Provided those pets and veteranarians are/were fighting in wars, yes.

Memorial Day was set up as a day of remembrence for all those who have fought and died for your freedom. Veterans day was set up to honor the Veterans returning from WW1 (WW1 ended on the 11 hour of the 11 day of the 11 month ie november 11=Veterans Day)

Unbelievable! This was taught in elementary school. Obviously, someone wasn't paying attention! That is so sad. Memorial Day or Decoration Day is observed on 30 May of every year to remember our fallen. Starting in December 2000, a "National Moment of Rememberance" resolution asks that 3:00pm local time for all Americans "to voluntarily and informally observe in their own way a Moment of Rememberance" resolution asks that 3:00pm local time for all Americans "to voluuntarily and informally observe in their own way a Moment of rememberance and respect, pausing from whatever they are doing or a moment of silence or listening to "TAPS" was passed.

Veteran's Day is observed on 11 November every year and it is to honor all our men and women veteran's serving and that have served that made it through and survived the wars. I have known this since before elementry school and I didn't have to be a mom to a Marine or Army son to know it!

The thought that just popped into my mind now is .........if you didn't know what the difference was between the two days of observance were, two questions come to my mind. First, do you know what wearing a poppy in a lapel signifies? And two, what do you do with a torn and tattered flag or with a flag that touches the ground?

A military mom and proud of them and of our Troops!! Thank you to all of them past and present!!!

You have got to be kidding me. Neither has to do with animals. Memorial Day is to honor the DEAD Veterans(not veterinarians) and to put flowers on every ones grave to show respect. While Veterans day is to honor all Veterans, not just the ones that died.

Are you joking??? This is an elementary school question...

Memorial Day is to remember the soldiers who died in the service of their country, the Veteran's Day is to honor the old soldiers who fought for their country and survived the wars.

Please tell me your joking. Memorial Day is to remember and honor soldiers who have died in service to their country. Veterans Day is to remember and honor the men and women, alive, who have served their country.

Are you serious or are you joking around silly, veteran's day is for the people who served in the armed forces, memorial is for the people who died I think.

Memorial Day is to remember the dead who fought for the idiots with idiotic reason. The Veteran's day is to cerebrate the War Criminals.
