I've always wondered as Monday to me is the first day week where everyone dreads Monday - straight off the weekend.

Yet, calendar weeks usually state that Sunday is first day of the month why is this???

It is because the biggest religion in the US is Christianity and Christians believe that Sunday is a holy day and God comes first. Move to any other country and the first day of the week will be Monday.

its more of an opinion. i think the first day of the week is monday and i always try to find calenders that start the week with monday. they do make those. i just deal with sunday at the beginning of the week if i cant find one.
