How do you wrap presents from Santa?

Question

My daughter is 8 and I'm wondering if she will figure it out that the presents from Santa are wrapped in the same paper that the presents from me are wrapped in! She's pretty smart, and we don't have a whole lot this year due to financial issues so I didn't buy a variety. Also, she's with me so I'm not sure how to sneak more paper by her. LOL.
I don't remember EVER even thinking about it when I was little though.
I thought I would tell her that Santa is the one that makes all the paper and sells it to the stores so he would naturally have the same paper as I do..... is that too obvious?

When I was a kid - the presents from Santa were never wrapped. They were just under the tree - with a bow and a tag. And we never wrapped our kid's presents from Santa either - just did that same thing. Now she's older - so we open presents on Christmas Eve - and there are still some from "Santa" - but we wrap them because there is not that "get up in the morning and look under the tree" thing going on. I say don't wrap them at all. Put them under the tree with a bow and a tag. Saves time - money on paper - and makes Santa's presents different than yours.

Since your daughter is used to having wrapped gifts from Santa, I would say use a different paper, but growing up, Santa NEVER wrapped the presents in our house and it was always so exciting to come down the stairs or around the corner and see everything that Santa had brought! I was hoping to continue this tradition with our child(ren), however my husband grew up in a household where Santa always wrapped the presents and he insists this is the way it is going to be in our family!! Needless to say, it doesn't make Christmas fun for me and it hurts my heart that he won't compromise. For one, I think it's a waste of wrapping paper and two, kids are going to figure out "hey, mom and dad have this same wrapping paper" or "that looks like mom's handwriting on the tag". Some may think, well what fun is that to see all of your presents at once? My parents bought us plenty of gifts (from them) and wrapped those, so we still had lots of presents to unwrap in the morning. Santa doesn't have time to wrap gifts!

My mom used to by special gold paper (usually at stores we didn't usually buy at) and paper with pictures of santa on them. I think they would wrap presents while we slept and buy the gifts the night before. My neighbors would pay my sister and I ten dollars to wrap gifts for thier kids from Santa. They gave us just bought wrapping paper, and my Sister would always use the same cursive handwritting with a gold pen to sign the To and From part. The Key to this this is consistency in how the presents are wrapped and ofcourse secrecy.

go buy some cheap wrapping paper and then wrap them when she is at a friends houses or do it in your room then on the tags put from Santa and try to make it not look like your writing. Good Luck and Merry Christmas to you!

Wrap presents from Santa in Reynolds wrap and don't put a name on it. Or use a brown paper bag from Santa.

The present from Santa remains unwrapped and just appears under the tree on Christmas morning. But, at age 8, it's time to start letting things slip accidentally on purpose. Kind of let her in on the fantasy for little children, or she may have issues later.

Never ever ever wrap Santa presents in the same wrapping paper that you used for presents from you!!! That how I figured it out. Oh and when you sign your name on the card don't write it with the hand you write with.

Never have, never will. Things are under a cover until X-mas. That's the European custom.

No wasted paper and excess garbage, much more Eco friendly.

Of course the presents were kept in a separate room with the X-mas tree only showing up on X-mas Eve.

And the tree had all 4 inch high wax candles (up to a hundred some years).

Honestly if she is smart enough to realize the wrapping paper is the same as others, shes probably smarter than you.........., I mean shes probably smart enough to realize Santa is non-existent.

She's 8! Tell her the truth already .She'll be made fun by her friends and in school. Stop psychologically destructing your child's mind .

don't wrap the presents...thats what we do every year... and if she asks why they aren't wrapped say that santa stopped wrapping presents to save money so he could make better presents for the nice kids or something along those lines.....

take it to the mall and pay to get it giftwrapped. or if you used regular gift wrap paper for yours, use the shiny kind for "santas" presents. theyre only like a dollar at the dollar store because i got my wrappin stuff from there. and you could use different bows. hope that helps

when i was about 8, i noticed that santa had the same wrapping paper as us. i was definitely very curious but it wasn't till the next year that i saw my parents stuffing our stockings to find out for sure. i'd be extra safe and grab an extra roll of paper

Well maybe instead you could print out on the computer like coling pages of santa and then color them and glue them or tape them to the box. Then have a note from santa saying like: my elfs helped me make you wrapping paper! Merry christmas ___________ !(insert name)
