The Federal Gov.t closes down for MLK day but keep going for Pearl Harbor Day which is more important ! Why?

I agree,it is like saying what the heck,let them lay in the bottom of the ship,forgotten Those guys were there to help protect their country,not stir things up all the time.

I can't understand why Pearl Harbor is not a National Holiday when Martin Luther Kings Birthday is?

We did throw an atomic bomb for the reason of Pearl Harbor the U.S. didn't hold a grudge against Japan.

D Day isn't a National Holiday, either. Both days are commemorated by church services and reflection.
Martin Luther King, Jr. Day is in honor of a great American who paved the way for Civil Rights for millions of people in the U.S.
